A major road giving access to York was closed this weekend as five cars were involved in one car crash. Whiplash and minor injuries were suffered by the drivers and passengers.
The accident occurred on the A19 near Escrick, a little before 8pm, leaving northbound cars to negotiate small roads to pass the crash scene.
Four of the cars involved were manufactured by Ford; a Focus, a Ka, a Fiesta and an Escort van. The fifth was a Vauxhall Corsa. Police have not yet elaborated on the cause of the car crash.
