Road traffic accident in Littlehampton sends four to hospital
Littlehampton was the scene on Saturday of a serious road traffic accident, which involved a car, a motorcycle and three pedestrians, one of whom was a young child.
A silver Citroen Saxo collided with a Triumph motorcycle, and in its attempts to regain control mounted the pavement and drove into three pedestrians, who reporters believe to have been a young family.
Paramedics and fire crews were promptly in attendance. Air ambulances took the motorcyclist to Worthing hospital and the male pedestrian to Southampton with life-threatening injuries. The female pedestrian suffered head injuries and the child, who appeared to be under ten, received leg injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to hospital for their personal injury to be dealt with.
The driver was not injured, and was arrested at the scene.
A police appeal has been launched for witnesses to this road traffic accident to call 0845 6070999, quoting Operation Durrow.
